Easter bunny or Jesus?

On the radio this afternoon, I heard a reporter asking some kids (approx 10-12 years old) about Easter. The answers of one girl caught my attention. The reporter's first question was why we celebrate Easter. The girl answered that we celebrate Easter because it is then we find the Easter bunny! Probably a bit surprised, the reporter carefully followed up with a question whether or not she thought that Easter might have something to do with Jesus. The girl's answer was crystal clear: No! The reporter then asked her what is the difference between Christmas and Easter. The girl answered with confidence that for Christmas they have a Christmas tree and for Easter they have an Easter egg.

None of the other kids expressed knowledge about the origin of Easter, either.

It is sad to register that we live in a society and a period of time where several people do not know why we celebrate Easter and where quite a number of people are distant to faith. Norway need to hear about the gospel. Not about the religion of right and wrong, but about the faith that decides life and death.
