Extreme stupidity

How intelligent are people with extreme opinions? Especially those who are willing to use violence and terror to reach their goals?

Let us have a look at this Norwegian Anders Behring Breivik who on 22^nd July first let a bomb explode outside the government buildings in Oslo and later in the afternoon was responsible for a massacre on the Labour Party’s youth organization. He was fed up with Norwegian policy that for years has been allowing Muslims to immigrate to Norway and having their religion and culture “destroy” Norwegian values and culture.

What has happened after 22^nd  July? The Labour Party’s youth organization has gotten many more members. Every opinion poll made after 22^nd July shows that many more people would vote for the Labour Party. The Norwegian society has become even more acceptable and open to Muslims and Muslim values and religion than before. The right extreme terrorist Breivik has achieved much more than extreme Islamic groups could ever hope for within a few summer weeks.

During the first few days after Breivik was arrested, it was said that he seemed to be an intelligent young man, showing much knowledge in his manifesto. Maybe so, but he has clearly shown that he is not able to use his so called intelligence.

Not only were his actions horrible, but they were also a result of extreme stupidity.
