God is not angry with you!

Quite a lot people think that God is angry with them or at least not satisfied with them. That is a major reason why they stay away from church. They do not feel qualified and they struggle with self condemnation, and they allow legalistic Christians to judge them.

But the truth is that God is not at all angry with you. The Bible says in Ephesians 1:7 that in Jesus Christ, we have redemption through His blood and the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace. In 2nd Corinthians 5:19, it says that God was in Jesus Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not holding their sins against them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

God knows that you are not perfect in yourself and that you have sins and mistakes in your life. But He does not hold your mistakes and sins against you. Because God made Jesus Christ who knew no sin to be sin for you, that you might become the righteousness of God in Jesus Christ! (2nd Corinthians 5:21). Jesus actually became every single sin that you have, and then all these sins were nailed to the cross. By becoming your sins, Jesus made it possible for you to become God's righteousness!

John 3:17 even says it clearly: God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but He sent His Son that the world through His Son might be saved.

So if God is not angry with you and if He does not want to condemn you, why should you condemn yourself? And why should you let legalistic Christians condemn you? God did not give Christians the word of condemnation, but He gave us the word of reconciliation. If you experience legalistic Christians who try to emphasize your mistakes and condemn you, remind them that God gave them the word of reconciliation.

And whenever you feel self condemnation come into your mind, it is the devil trying to fool you. Then tell him not to bother you. If he questions your salvation or if one of your sins actually is forgiven, tell him to go and question Jesus Christ instead. Tell the devil that it was not you who fixed your salvation, but that it was Jesus Christ. You are God's righteousness!
