Then Jesus said to them, ”Most assuredly, I say to you, Moses did not give you the bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is He who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” (John 6:32-33)
Like the above scripture indicates, Jesus is the bread of God. Jesus confirms this in verse 35 and says that whoever comes to Him shall never hunger nor thirst.
That must be a great bread! The bread we eat for breakfast keeps the hunger away for some time. But a few hours later, we are hungry again.
Saying that Jesus is the bread of God, means that He wants us to eat from Him. It is about hearing. Faith comes by hearing. Receiving and believing in Him makes us be God’s righteousness. In verse 40 it says that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life.
He does not put any requirements to you, others than that you believe in Him. In verse 37, He says that ”the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out”. So you can rest in this truth; if you come to Him, He will never leave you.
