God's will

Have you ever wondered what God's will for you is? Many people think that God does not care about them unless they behave in a very good way. And that He becomes angry as soon as we do something that He does not like. But that is not true. Not only does He have a will for you, but He actually desires you to be saved. "[God] desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth" (1^st Timothy 2:4). He wants to spend time with you, but He does not force you.

 

In 2^nd Cor 5:21 it says that God made Jesus Christ to be sin for us so that we might become the righteousness of God. This indicates that what God did, happened in the past; He "made" (past tense) Jesus Christ to be sin for us. So God has already done His part. But He has not made any decision for you. He made Jesus to be sin for us so that we "might become" His righteousness. You might become His righteousness - the decision belongs to you. He has done His part. Have you made your decision?

 

God desires you to come to the knowledge of the truth. What is the truth? The history of science has proved that the scientific truth has a tendency of changing. People believe in learning. Increasing their knowledge. Going to school and study. And we study to learn more. To learn things that we did not know before. The history of science has also shown that scientists have increased their knowledge. They always need scientific evidence to confirm new knowledge. And when they get that, the new knowledge becomes a scientific truth. That implies that something that was not a truth before, might be a scientific truth today. And something that cannot be scientifically proved today, might be proved some day in the future.

 

So, what is the truth? Is it only something that can be scientifically proved today? Or is it something stable and steady that is actually here, whether or not scientists have discovered it?

What does the Bible say? In John 14:6, Jesus says: "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me". Jesus is the truth. God desires you to come to the knowledge of Jesus Christ. According to Luke 19:10, Jesus has come to seek and save  which was lost. It was true last century, it is true today, and it is true next year. You do not have to go to a specific place to be saved. Jesus has come to seek for you where you are. In Luke, you can read the story about when Jesus came to Jericho. Zacchaeus was the chief tax collector and known as a big sinner of the town. Jesus went to be a guest with this man. He was lost, but Jesus came and he was saved.

 

Wherever you are and whatever you have done in your life, Jesus is there for you. Whenever you want Him to be there. There is nothing you can do to make Him go away. He will never force you. But He is there. Exactly when you need Him to be there. Maybe you need Him to be there now. Or maybe tomorrow. He is there so that you can come to God.
